Tracy
By Lisa | February 17, 2008
Vet nurse in training from the UK
Tracy is our vet nurse on the island of Koh Maak. She lives there with her husband Robbie. Tracy has been with the project since 2006. She has spent her own money to buy medicines to support the animals on Koh Maak. If we have a case that can not be resolved on Koh Maak, Tracy coordinates the transport to Koh Chang. We appreciate Tracy’s tenacity and loving heart towards all the animals!

Megan
By Lisa | February 17, 2008
Vet nurse in training from the UK
Megan came to join the project in 2007. She was only 19 years old but had been traveling in South East Asia since she was 16. Megan had studied with previous, and visiting, nurses and vets at the project and had become a very good student. She left in March 2008. We wish her to return one day as a certified vet nurse. But we hear she is attending nursing school….for humans !!!

How to help financially
By admin | January 2, 2008
We need all the help we can get !!
All of our funding comes from private donations.
Lisa has put in 250,000 US$ of her own money and can no longer support the project by herself.
Any person interested in donating funds to help support the continuation of the Koh Chang Animal Project may do so.

Please note: The account name is a personal account because the bank will not issue an account number to an Animal Aid Center. We are trying to find away to accomplish this.

Help is always appreciated and welcome!
By admin | January 2, 2008
There have been a number of traveling veterinarians and vet nurses who have helped support the project by donating their holiday time to perform medical services and educate our volunteers.
We are always looking for help….veterinarians, vet nurses and people that love animals are always welcome. Tender loving care is one of the most important factors for animal health and well being, so even if you just want to cuddle and clean….please contact us.
We would like to make a very special THANK YOU !!! to Dr. Somsak of Koh Samui. He has helped us out enormously over the last couple of years. We think he is the #1 vet in all of Thailand.

In the 120 square meter facility there is a clinic, surgery & lab, ICU/nursery, a sleeping room, kitchen and toilet. In the back, there are 4 outdoor dog kennels.
The building is easily visible from the road with 23 cats and 3 dogs running around.

Lisa
By Lisa | December 31, 2007
Founder/vet nurse from USA
Lisa first arrived on Koh Chang in 2000 as a dive instructor. She soon noticed that the animals on the island were in desperate need of veterinary care. With over 20 years experience of providing volunteer veterinary care, she decided to start helping. At first, this involved only vaccinating animals and emergency support. Things progressed and the need for a clinic was obvious. She learned the Thai language and offered her services for free to help out the local people. She gained valuable experience over the last few years. She has studied with numerous doctors from various countries around the world. Her knowledge and understanding of animals has grown immensely since 2000.
