Volunteer Staff
Kimhong
Vet nurse and house manager (paid) from Vietnam but is now a Thai citizen.
Hung joined us in June 2011. She is from Vietnam but also speaks Khmer and Thai fluently. She has been trained as a vet nurse and is now learning English. She is responsible for the dog and cat kennels, giving medicines and monitoring patients during surgery. She also manages the daily running of the center. She left in November 2012 but rejoined us in March 2016. She is paid weekly. She is moody, but has a good heart and cares very much for the animals. The animals also obey her. Don’t get on her bad side !!
Tracy
Vet nurse in training from the UK
Tracy is our vet nurse on the island of Koh Maak. She lives there with her husband Robbie. Tracy has been with the project since 2006. She has spent her own money to buy medicines to support the animals on Koh Maak. If we have a case that can not be resolved on Koh Maak, Tracy coordinates the transport to Koh Chang. We appreciate Tracy’s tenacity and loving heart towards all the animals!
Lisa
Founder/vet nurse from USA
Lisa first arrived on Koh Chang in 2000 as a dive instructor. She soon noticed that the animals on the island were in desperate need of veterinary care. With over 20 years experience of providing volunteer veterinary care, she decided to start helping. At first, this involved only vaccinating animals and emergency support. Things progressed and the need for a clinic was obvious. She learned the Thai language and offered her services for free to help out the local people. She gained valuable experience over the last few years. She has studied with numerous doctors from various countries around the world. Her knowledge and understanding of animals has grown immensely since 2000.
